Glenmorven Studios

Nestled on the side of a hill in amongst beautiful native bush and with an amazing view of the valley below, this was a truly special and unique project.

With a central courtyard anchoring the buildings to the hill, the main studio juts out from the steep slope into the surrounding bush. A garage and retaining walls constructed with Hawkes Bay White concrete blocks contrast beautifully with the dark-stained cedar and larch cladding.

Southern Maple Beech flooring and window frames lend a lovely warmth to the interior.

Sam came to us highly recommended and has proven to be the best builder by far that I have ever engaged. Our build, while small, has demanding architectural and construction specifications and Sam has shown very high standards in interpreting the architects tricky design specs and the owners high expectations. He is a rare combination of artisan and engineer and an exceptionally good manager of people and relationships. He is also an excellent communicator - which is important if the client is at a distance. He is totally trustworthy in every respect and has completed our project both on time and on budget (with some allowance for Covid disruption).
